Any doctors?

Hello. My little sister, Emma (13) has this really odd habit. When I ask her about it, she says it's nothing, but I noticed a pattern in it. She has to touch something twice with her right hand, elbow, etc. and once with her left, usually she touches the ground. It is very odd. She usually does it atleast a few times. No one else in my family has noticed. Does she have a disorder, if so, is there a cure? Please help me, I am very worried.

I'm a nurse. It sure sounds like it. Your sister has a chemical imbalance in her brain. She needs to be seen by her primary MD. Please tell a family member you can trust in order to get your sister the help she needs. You're a good and caring sister.

I am deffinately not a doctor, and yes, you should tell your parents that you noticed this and are concerned about her.
I do have a bit of experience with odd habits though, having one when I was little. I had to snap my toes (just like snapping your fingers, but I did it with my toes), and I couldn't wear confining shoes because it would drive me insane if I couldn't snap my toes. I remember a doctor taping my toes together to try and get me to stop but it was absolutely agonizing, and I ripped off the tape repeatedly. Eventually I stopped doing it, just grew out of it I suppose. Don't assume that your sister will grow out of it though, it could become worse, or a serious psychological problem which only a doctor can diagnose.

It sounds like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It would be best for her to see a doctor herself, for starters. He/she can refer your sister to other professionals, like behavioral therapists or phsychiatrists, if OCD is suspected.
