Depression and Heart disease...?

I feel pain in my both elbows, n also pain in left chest . i 'm frightened that it would be heart blockage... i'm 23 years of age. I smoke n drink at times...I 've bipolar disorder n nervous breakdown for past 7 years...

Smoking, alcohol, prolonged depression as well as poor diet and lack of exercise can lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol and many kinds of heart disease. That process normally takes many years and is not normally seen in people under the age of 40. Persons with heart problems under 40 normally have a heart defect of some kind.

The heart is actually located just off center to the left, behind the sternum. Angina (chest pain) associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) is normally felt in the center of the chest and may radiate to the neck, jaw or left arm and shoulder. It is not usually felt on the left side of the chest. For this reason and your age, I think your left side chest pain is not related to your heart.

Your elbow pain is also probably not caused by your heart. It is most likely a soft tissue injury like Tennis Elbow (tendonitis).

However, as always, the best idea is to have your medical issues checked by your doctor.

I have set up a website that provides basic information on the conditions and procedures I have experienced. It also provides links to more information. See the link in the source box below.

Hope this helps.

Terry

it is most likely tension causing pain =get checked out though get better soon

Go to the doctor because the unknown is only making you sick
