As for as answering your question, I have Type II, but not to the extreme I need braces. I have read discussions (at the site) about this and in some cases it does appear to help (and in early stages) can straighten out certain bones.

By all means, check out the site and send them your questions -- they have tons of information (and most doctors have never even heard of EDS).
