Aortic dissection?? PLEASE ANSWER!!!? |
i think i'm having an aortic dissection of my heart..... i fit the symptoms and i have a medical condition where i can have them. look at this website (at the bottom) and you'll see my condition listed Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. i fit almost all the symptoms of a aortic dissection. here are my symptoms that are symptoms with an aortic dissection - http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... Unless you have vascular EDS (type IV) I wouldn't worry so much about it being your aorta. Try and calm down and see if the chest pain is still there. you'll be shortly without surgical intervention -call 911. Anxiety alone can cause more than half of the symptoms on your list, which is likely to result from thinking you have a serious condition like an aortic dissection. I am an echo tech (I conduct cardiac ultrasounds) and I wish I had a nickel for every time a patient self diagnosed themselves wrongly. I don't know your history and I have not conducted any tests on you, but I would bet that what you are experiencing is a musculoskeletal injury with secondary anxiety. If I were a doctor I would order an echo to cover my own ***, an MRI if your chest pain was persistant and debilitating, and I would prescribe .25 mg alprazolam PRN to combat the anxiety. Then if any of the tests showed any irregularities I would refer you to a specialist. However I am not a doctor, so I recommend that you see one, and let me know if he follows the same course of treatment. :D |
