HELPPPP!!!! I injured my back and i need advice? |
ok i was exercising and i hurt my back. now i cant sit for a long time, stand for a long time, lay on my back, and i cant bend. it is excruciating pain and pain meds dont work heating pads dont work icy hot doesnt work i cant do ice because i have raynauds phenomenon and i have a disease called ehlers danlos syndrome and a unknown pain syndrome. i also have scoliosis in my lower back. any suggestions and please please please help me! im desprite for help this happened about 4 days ago Get an appointment with your family doc ASAP. Let your doctor know what you've already done and that it hasn't worked. Ask if you can have a referral to a spine specialist. It doesn't sound scoliosis-related, but I'm not the one qualified to give you an opinion. First of all....when did this happen? You need to go to a doctor and tell them you want an MRI. DO NOT take no for an answer. Don't do any kind of therapy or ANYTHING until you KNOW what's going on inside your back. If they wont refer you for one, go somewhere else. My husband got hurt at work, and these specialists were trying to "start small" with pain killers and steroids. What happened was, he damaged several discs at work, and by waiting so long because these doctors wanted to try other things first, he developed severe, permanent, irreversable damage and is now disabled and not able to work again. He is in pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and not to even mention the number of medications and depression. This happened when he was in peak physical condition at age 29. Hopefully you just have something pulled or torn and it's not serious, but PLEASE get an MRI, then there won't be any guessing games. Take care of yourself my friend and good luck. :) You need to go see your doctor immediately and get referrals for specialized diagnosis and treatment, possibly an orthopedist or a specialist in sports medicine. You will probably need physical therapy too. |
