Is Edema Serious in non-heart patients? Should I worry? |
I am 30 and have edema in my legs and feet nearly everyday. I do not have heart problems. I do have sleep apnea and high blood pressure which probably cause the edema. Should I treat the edema and is it causing damage to my body & what can happen with this over the years? Idiopathic Edema is a common disorder that occurs almost exclusively in women. It is characterized by salt retention in the absence of heart, kidney, or liver disease. The swelling (edema) may be episodic or persistent. Swelling of the face, hands, and feet develops rapidly, frequently accompanied by headache, irritability, and depression. Weight gain also occurs. If you would go or if you did and a CPAP was prescribed and you are not using it please start using it! Many , many problems will clear up from it alone that one would never imagine ! I am 60 years old and honestly feel at least 20 years younger! This machine has allowed me to accidentialy loose around 25 or so pounds in weight from life stile changes! |
