Edema after surgery on my left leg?

Ok, about a week and a half ago, i had surgery on my left knee. I had this same surgery on my right knee three month prior. On my left leg, I have noticed edema happening in my left foot, and ankle. I don't think this is normal, and I don't know what to do about it. I've not had any loss of circulation, but I have noticed a bruise on the anterior side of my ankle.

Oedema can be a side effect of sluggish venous return ie your veins arent pumping the blood back up as normal. This is due to you being in pain and your leg not functioning normally. Its normal but if you are worried see you doctor.
