Edema Question? |
A certain Medicine caused my edema. Nothing seems to help the swelling go away. Any advice? Reduce salt intake, raise legs above heart at night or when sitting, and I thin reducing the daily intake of fluids to 1500cc or so, and maybe even not eating too much high potassium foods. My grandfather has it and I recall these were things they did. go see a doctor again! Lasix. You need a diuretic... Lasix works First what medication second where is the edema Some medicines just cause edema. There are several things you can do to lower your swelling. Lower your intake of water and salt. As sodium can make you retain even more water. I would definitely talk to your doctor though. Perhaps he can prescribe something else, or something to help with the swelling. It's going to sound weird, but I swear it works, the water cure: http://kinsman.epix.net/water/ I had pulmonary edema, and the lasix(feurosemide) worked great for me! I would see a doctor though, there could be an underlying cause. See a different doctor than the one that prescribed the medicine. It's strange how certain doctors in a specific field often vary completely in what they prescribe. |
