Questions about Edema? |
I had severe edema in my left leg, I started to drink 8 glasses of water a day and now the swelling has reduced greatly. But I have 2 open ulcers, which i bandage with DuoDerm Hydroactive Dressing. And now that the swelling has gone down my leg has become purple blue colour at times and the veins throb at times in the day and the pain is unbearable. I have been to many doctors about this problem but none seem to have answers to solve whats going on? If anyone could help it would be great, Thank you. Bobbie: I do not have diabetes and my blood work is all normal. White blood cells all was checked. The Ulcers formed due to the adema. Not the first time I had those. I am extremely overweight, and have been on a diet for 2 weeks now. After 3 days of starting the diet the severe pain started, when the swelling went out of the leg. 8 glasses of water I'm drinking. My doctor said it is not cardiovascular problem so the water is ok to drink. Perhaps because my leg was so swollen for 8 months about. Is that the cause of the pain? At the most im worried about a blood clot? Thank you both for being interested in helping me. these links will help thrombosis maybe gout maybe.....what does your labwork show? cellulitis maybe....the possibilities are endless. How did you get the ulcers? Are you diabetic?? |
