What does edema on back side of one leg mean? |
It has been 4 weeks and the popliteal area on the left leg of my spouse has had a pocket of edema. There has been no pain except for and intermittent pressure feeling until this weekend. Pain is felt when flexed and his mobility is now impaired. He saw a Dr. Fri. was instructed to take Motrin, which he has done. The pain is worse (4 on 1-10 up from a 2) and the swelling has increased. He is a runner but does not remember injuring it. I told him he needs a second opinion, however he prides himself on his health and is put off by that idea (I think). What might this indicate? Bursitis? His doctor is an idiot; time for a second opinion from a sports medicine specialist. search it yourself medicaldictionary.com |
