Breast augmentation and inflammation/edema? |
i had a breast augmentation 3 months ago. i experienced a lot of swelling, which has decreased and is moving down towards my lower extremities (legs, calves, ankles.) however, i am still very bloated, and i believe this is from the effects of inflammation from surgery and resulting edema. my doctor tells me that if i carry on a daily lifestyle, itll all go away by itself, but a month has gone by, and its still very bad. i still cannot fit into the same size jeans as i did before my surgery. anyone else experienced this? it is the worst in my arms, legs, and hips. what is usually done to treat inflammation from a trauma? is it supposed to last this long? In the AT world, it sounds like your body kinda fell into a state of limbo when it doesn't go into the last phases of healing. When this happens, we use electrical stimulation to reset the healing process. By using e-stim (at a noxious level), the body can be tricked into thinking that it's injured all over again and begins healing from stage one, and usually your body will finish healing properly. You can find AT's at PT clinics, hospitals or even sometimes your company. You need to see another doctor. This is not normal. If it is the surgeon who is telling you this I would definitely run to another doctor. I have had plenty of surgery and have never had that happen and I have Lupus ! Hi |
