My husband is suffering from acute edema (water retention)?

my husband has severe edema & no dr can figure out why. he's gained 50lbs in 3wks,shoes & socks dont fit. h20 pills only worked for 1st few days and swelling won't go down even with his feet up.the boxers that fit yesterday are skin tight today.blood work shows triglicerides at 664.Does anyone have any suggestions?

Go to Urgent Care ASAP. Severe and sudden edema are classic symptoms of acute heart failure.

Cut the salt out of his diet. How high is the dosage on the water pills? Have u taken him to the er?

Keep on top of your doctor.Find out what tests are being done and why. Always get the results and neccessary feed back and recommend get his renal system(liver,kidneys) looked at and tested. Maby he needs to be on a diurretic.

Go to a different doctor. They have several pills that he can take if those are not working they need to give him something else. Also, have him drink a lot of water, I know it may sound wierd but, water helps you lose water that is why they gave him H2O pills. Other than that, dont let him drink diet pops as they retain water.
