Also is it genetic? thank u for any help!

There is no cure for eczema, but don't lose hope.
Eczema can be triggered by food or seasonal allergies, as well as by stress. The condition will WORSEN if you scratch the affected area.

They keys to treating eczema are two fold. You want to minimize the itching and caretake the skin. Try using diphenhydramine (Benadryl, or a noname brand) to minimize the itching. As far as the skin goes, you will want to keep the area clean to prevent infection, and moist to minimize damage. Vaseline works wonders, and my son's dermatologist even suggested crisco!

While consulting a dermatologist is a good idea, particularly if the situation is worsening; consulting an allergist might help too. Also, cotton is the best material to wear, wools and acrylics can aggrevate the rash.

The steriods will calm an outbreak, but proper maintenance can virtually eliminate them altogether.

Good Luck!

I used Palmers Cocoa Butter with great success. Report It

Eczema is treatable with steroid cream and other lotions etc.
Yes it does run in families, I had it, as did my sister who still has it in adulthood, and my son has it, and my neices and nephews. It is an allergy.
See your doctor, it is easily treatable.
good luck

welll yea it doesnt stay there for your whole life just go to the doctor and he will give u a perscription and put the medicine on

My dad has it, but none of us kids do. So I don't know if it's hereditary or not. His was never bumpy. You should see a dermatologist. In the meantime - use AVON's Moisture Therapy Lotion with Oatmeal - or oatmeal baths (yes, oats in your tub water) seem to help.

it's a skin condition. before you panic, go see a doctor, it may be something else, like nerves, etc.

I have found that using witch hazel and zinc oxide has caused my eczema to be almost nonexistent. I read up on and it seems that eczema can be caused by excessive moisture, although it looks and feels very dry. Once I stopped trying to moisturize it and treating it like dry skin, it is almost never a problem anymore. I also read that a lot of people with eczema have a zinc defiency.

Autogenic training is similar to methods of meditation and self-hypnosis. Instructors help the patient to achieve and maintain a relaxed state of positive concentration.
This is eventually done independently. Even ten minutes of practice per day can produce beneficial results for mind and body. Research has shown AD to be one of the conditions that is improved by this technique.
Massage is another therapy that can be effective in reducing stress. The oils that are used in the treatment can also make a difference in AD. Some patients get relief from the topical use of evening primrose oil (EPO) diluted in carrier oil. Aromatherapists may use small amounts of essential oils from lavender, bergamot, and geranium. These are promoted to decrease both itching and inflammation. Improper dilutions, however, can worsen the condition.

as far as I know it cant be cured
and you may have it even if you have never shown signs of it. mine started showing up around that age and it only flared up when i was stress. as I have gotten older it has come to spred its happiness all over my legs, arms and abdomen more frequently

it's awful

it can be controlled with creams and steroid shots. I have some cream that was perscribed but I keep forgetting to apply it...so I cant help you there

if it itches a lot then it is probably eczema. my best advice is to be very carefull the moisterizers you use and when it itches, do your best not to scratch. it will obly mak eit worse.

good luck
