Eczema and elidel and cancer?

I used elidel a few times but it worked like a mircale for the eczema I had on my arms. Now, I've heard that Elidel has been linked with skin cancer. I have no doubts that this may be true, cause no medication I've ever heard of clears up eczema permanetnly only after a few applications. In other words, something can't be right.
I suffered from eczema for 26 years, put on Elidel fo 3 days, and haven't had any signs of eczema for the past 10 or so years. Something must be wrong with that medication. Are there any websites with information about the dangers of using Elidel and the caner risks?

My daughter had eczema really bad on her arms and elidel worked a miracle on her. I can only hope that the eczema cure hasn't caused her another problem.

I have eczema on my arms and legs, and I was prescribed Elidel and found that it did not work well. It just stung, made my skin redder and itchier for the first twenty minutes, then it began to work.

I also do not doubt that it has been linked to skin cancer, something just did not feel right when I put it on my eczema. However, my dermatologist also suggested I use fluocinonide and that has been my personal miracle medication. I put it on and my eczema disappears. The only downside to fluocinonide is that it is a steroid, and certain people should not use it daily. I only use it when I have flair ups or when I consume citrus or red dyes (which cause my eczema to worsen) and it works excellently.

But when my eczema is mild or I do not feel right taking the steroid, or I need a refill of fluocinonide, another great one is Betamethasone dipropionate cream. It works almost instantly and is not a steroid, so it's more safe to use for certain people. The con is that it smells quite a bit like old leather.

I guess Elidel works for some people and not for others, but I am glad it has cured your case of eczema, I know what a plague it is. I would discuss with your doctor what the dangers are for skin cancer, especially if it runs in your genetics to begin with.

Good luck.
