Hello there. I suggest that you should try anti-eczema cream and spray combo from champori.com: it is herbal (steroid and accompanied side-effects free) and works better (and faster) for my eczema. It also comes with a money back guarantee so if it doesn't work for you - it's free.
Best,
Bernadette

If I were you, the first thing I would do is to go to your doctor - they may prescribe creams, tablets ect. which will help.

I had mild eczema on my hands, and I bought some E45 - it's this cream (you've probably heard of it) and it worked really well for me. I stayed away from other normal moisturising creams, they just irritated my skin, and stuck with the E45. I put it on now and again, and as well as clearing my skin, it improved the appearance in the process.

As I said though, I would go and see your doctor, he/she will be the best person for advice.

Good luck (;

Don't use soap, don't have long showers or baths and make sure they aren't hot it will dry your skin out more and moisturise everytime you think about it and you can. That should help some.

I've had eczema for years. Unfortunately, it comes and goes... However, the ones on my inner thighs went away with cortizone (which you can buy without a perscription). My face was a different story... II was put on steroids for a week or so... Never had a flare up again on my face after that. I was also given protopic for my hands and feet. It works great but you have to see a doctor.

Watch the product you use on your skin. I use shea butter instead of lotion because some lotions will break me out. A cheaper alternative lotion is Lubriderm. That stuff is awesome! Make sure you don't put too much lotion on your skin because sometimes it will cause flares (but don't dry out your skin either, just a small hydrating amount.), use hypo-allergetic detergent and soap and you'll hardly have a break out. I've found a lot of healthy skin products for pretty cheap without looking too hard.

I'm 19 now and I model despite my skin. There's no cure for eczema but there's ways to keep it under control. Good luck to you! hope this helped.

my little brother had the worst eczema when he was a baby-he had to be hospitalised on numerous occasions-he had hair loss and could only wear special suits which covered his arms to stop him from itching his body....but now he's much better. he has to avoid dairy products only allowed soya(they irritated his skin very badly) i remember my mom used to oil his skin in "haldens base" just to keep moisture in the skin. this helped quite a lot. there is also steroids that you can get from your doctor which can clear up the skin-but i'm not sure how long you can use them for. you need to figure out what triggers off your flare ups-pollen, dairy products, certain types of food, the grass, chlorine etc. take note of your symptoms when you get a flare up and what you think has caused it. then obviosly try to avoid this scenario again. there are also many types of shower gels and shampoos that eczema sufferers can use e.g. emoilents because normal ones contain lots of chemicals. Try to make your doctor refer you to a dermatologist also. hope this helps in some way. and good luck xxx

Eczema as far as I am concerned is an awful skin condition. My 9 year old daughter has it and we have been battling it for over 6 years now. It got to the point where she would only wear long sleeve tops because it was so bad on her arms.

This is what we have done and it does seem to help:

She takes a Benadryl at bedtime because it reduces the amount of itching and it also is an antihistamine which helps with the skin condition.

She takes a bath every other day if we can because when you bathe it actually takes away the moisture in your skin. Eczema is primarily a dryness of the body's skin.

Use a good quality lotion and/or cream. I would suggest Eucerin, Aveeno, etc. You want to use a thicker type of lotion so therefore it absorbs better.

I would suggest applying Vaseline to the parts of the body that has the eczema as Vaseline serves as a protectant on the body.

I would talk to your doctor about possibly an antihistamine to take during the day.

If you scratch it a lot then it can become infected and then you will need antibiotics for it. My daughter had been scratching so bad that we took her to the doctor and it had become infected so he prescribed her an antibiotic and a steroid cream. Combining those medications with the over the counter treatments that I listed we have got it under control.

It was so bad that every body part was covered with eczema, I feel your pain!

I and my daughter, my grand daughters all have eczema. It is heartbreaking for a girl that can't wear tops or pants that show her legs or arms. It's especially bad if it's on the face.
I don't know what E-45 is that's been suggested unless they mean E-5 supplement for tightening the skin ?

We all get shots (Zoloph) once a month and I get three shots every week for food allergies but, I'm dangerously allergic to several foods that cannot be avoided or, can be ingested accidentally.

There are controls for eczema but, this skin stays slightly harsh. You may try Aveeno liquid lotion without the additives. The allergist can give you a script for hydrocortosone 2.5% and Eucirine cream or Equate is good.

Wash in cool water or, let the water cool the skin down before getting out of the tub, this is one trick. Then while the skin is still moist put on the Eucerine cream and then the Hrdrocortosone cream over it.

Caution: If you take Benadryl prior to seeing the allergist he cannot give you any tests for up to ten days, the Benadryl will screw up the tests, it's an antihistamine.

I know a cream and by using it u can get rid of the exima .its the product of the company Forever living products and its nt normally available in market but u can buy it from the distributer of the company . my mom also have exima over her finger and by using that cream she is now free from the exima . the name of the cream is Propolis.

eczema has still no cure yet. it is found out that eczema does not go away. in some rare case, children will outgrow it when they reach the adolescence stage. that is why if you want to outgrow eczema be sure to have proper diet and proper nutrition to boost and enhance immune system in fighting skin disease like eczema.
