Eczema and sunblock???? |
my son he is 2 yrs old and he has eczema and we are going to the beach. he had eczema since he was about 3 weeks and i was wonder what have other parents used on their kids that have eczema when they are out in the sun??? Do you have a dermatologist for your son? If not then you should. There are so many things now that can help for eczema. I had it horribly when I was a child and I was miserable. Both my daughters have had bouts with it but not near as bad. The medicines the dermatologist prescribed always cleared them right up. As for sunblock, I've never had trouble with it. I'd talk to the doctor first...but I wouldn't hesitate using it. A sunburn would be far more harmful. Get the highest spf in a face cream and maybe that would be the mildest. Get one that doesn't smell real strong...the perfumes are usually what gets you. Cover him as much as you can. If he does have medication it probably shouldn't be exposed to sun. I know you need to keep the cortisoned skin out of it. Good luck and have fun! He's gonna love it. :) ask your pediatrician, i have eczema on my hands and i can't put sunblock on my children because it irritates my hands so badly. i wouldn't want your child to suddenly become so itchy he feels like digging his skin off. it litteraly feels that bad My daughter is 3 and has eczema as well but we just put her prescription cream on and then put sunblock on top of it. My Kids Don't have eczema but I have a Friend who has it.She is an older woman and she would go to the tanning bed and it Helped it so Much.I think your Son will be fine in the sun, just get a good spf for him, i like the new spray alot instead of the lotion,it covers areas Better.
