Is eczema contagious? |
ok, ive never had eczema in my life.but, i just recently moved in with my friend and she has eczema. today i noticed a rash on my arm that looked exactly like what she has.hers is eczema though.ive read that its not contagious..but i dont see why that ive never had it in my whole life and now all of a sudden that im living with someone who does..i get it.(if thats what it is) but its really bugging me..i mean, maybe i dont have eczema and maybe its just some sort of rash..but it looks the same as what she has..so do you think maybe i caught it from her? No, eczema is NOT contagious, you will have to look elsewhere for the cause of your rash not possile to catch it no, I had it when I was younger, nobody caught it from me. It could be ringworm? no you can't catch eczema, may thats not what she's got. she could have scabies or something that is contagious. No it is not contagious at all, there may be a reason why hers has got worse and why your skin is dry too, do you live in a hardwater area? Some body lotions/wash etc can make you sensitive especially those containing perfume, could be your washing powder/fabric conditioner, and even just dehydration. A true eczema is the body's immune response to an irritant, and is usually stress or diet related. It isn't contagious as everyone's body is different. If you do catch a rash off someone else it will be a virus, like measles or chickenpox, but not an excema which is often (usually) chronic. no, my son (1 year old) had it and he slept with us in the bed and i never got it nor my boyfriend Eczema is not contagious. Whatever you have you didn't get from her. I've had roommates and even a husband and he never had eczema, even after a really bad break-out. It could be caused by something you're eating. If you're eating the same foods, you could both get it, but it's not contagious. It could be caused by candida in your intestines. Try quitting sugar of any kind for 3 months. That usually gets rid of candida. No its not but u can spread it around your self I have had eczema since I was born and it is not contagious No eczema is not contagious,if your friend is being truthful about having eczema.Could it possibly be scabies, this is highly contagious and is a rather nasty rash that can spread but is very treatable.Best go to your GP or local clinic to be on the safe side.Of course it could just be a nervous reaction to new changes in your life or maybe psychosomatic because you are worrying too much about it. it is not contagious maybe you are being a hypochondriac and because you see what she has and you have a fear of getting it your mind makes you believeyou have it and then you break out in a rash that looks like it but really it is all psycholgical... you can not catch eczema, its a skin condition not past person to person, you might have taken something of late that you are allergic to IE aspirin, penicillin etc or if it a real red sort of rash could be a thing like psoriasis ,if you are worried see your GP..as it may get worse.best to get professional advise before you go putting on stuff you don't no about as may make it worse.. True eczema is a the bodies immune repsone against itself. Therefor it is not cantagious at all. That's like saying 'Did I catch my broken arm off someone'. You can't catch it so its not because of your friend. 0 chance of that . you are suffering from a psychological attack you need to readjust your mind to match with calm correct thought No, eczema is definately not contagious, it is caused by genes. You're probably just allergic to something, or maybe you've eaten something out of the ordinary. If you really want to know you can go to the doctor- only they can diagnose it really. Eczema usually only happens in childhood, and can come back in your teens if you've got a lot of exam stress. If it's really bad it can affect you for the rest of your life as well. eczema is not contagious, it is something you inherit, if it is in your family then chances are you may get it some time in your life, it is a skin condition that needs good care and special creams available from chemists and from your Doctor.if you are not sure what your rash is see your pharmacist or visit your g p. Absolutely NOT. I hope for her sakes that you do not suggest this too her as this will probably upset her greatly and like they say- eczema is like clinical depression. I suggest you research this condition because then you may begin to understand a fraction of what your friend has to live with day by day... and also it will help you to put your mind at rest. |
