Can eczema be caused by stress?

As I child I suffered with eczema until I was 12 years old. I don't mean to sound cold about this next part, but it is fact. My dad died when I was 12, and that is when it went away. (He was not the easiest person in the world to live with).

I am now in my 30's, in a stressful relationship, and the eczema has returned. Soaps and perfumes irritate it further.

I am just wondering if there is any kind of a link between eczema and stress.

Yes! Stress induces eczema...whenever I am in a stressful area in my life, my eczema flares up and becomes unbearable...which of course stresses me out more. Nasty cycle of eczema.

believe it or not but the main cause of it is your diet. for some reason your body breakouts from somethings you're eating.

yes. Excema is caused by a hyper-responsive system. Anything that causes stress to the system can cause symptoms.
