I had infected eczema, which has cleared, but I've been left with an itchy bumpy rash all over....?

I get eczema flare-ups on my knees and ankles from time to time, which usually get infected due to over-enthusiastic itching (I bite my fingernails, so I tend to use objects such as nail brushes or even... scissors... to scractch myself when the itch is driving me mad. I know that's bad.)

Well the fluxocillin (antibiotics) and Fucibet (steroid/antibiotic) cream the doctor gave me have cleared up the infection and eczema beautifully, but I've been left with an itchy, bumpy, flesh-coloured rash over my whole body. It came up when my eczema was infected, but it's still there. It's everywhere, including the palms of my hands and my eyelids, and itches like crazy. It's not dry or scaly, it's just bumps under the skin that feel warm to touch and get a bit red and inflammed after being scratched.

I've been taking allergy tablets but they've had to effect. Despite the occasional eczema flare-ups, I don't really have sensitive skin and I'm not allergic to anything.

Any advice great!

I have the same problem, and although it doesn't feel dry or scaly - put buckets and buckets and buckets of emmolient, like Oilatum, all over it. It may feel like the cream just sits on the surface, and feels greasy and annoying, but seriously, you must let it soak in. Don't shave any of the affected areas, and actually lying in the sun can help (but look after your health by using a suitable sun screen, and cover your head and eyes, also stay hydrated). Before and after any contact with water, smother your skin in emollient, and allow to soak in. Gradually it will become better, and then you can reduce the emollient to just morning and night, rather than two-hourly. Seriously, it's time consuming, but sadly theirs no "magic cure". Sorry hun, your in for a long haul. DON'T SCRATCH EITHER!!!!!!!!!!! Also, you may find changing your bed linen every two days, using an anti-house-dust-mite spray, from people such as the Mattress Doctor, really useful. Wear fresh pyjamas every night, and maybe reduce your duvet or bed sheets so that you are as cool as possible. Aloe Vero mist spray works wonders to relieve the aggravation, but your can't clear it all up apart from the ways described above, and you have to use them all together. Hope it gets better soon!

Try lotion.....then see a doctor

My dad had the same problem 5 months ago.....Go to a dermatologist he'll give you a cream which will take a few months to clear it.

same here but i have it on hands feet and stomach mine was infected to like you i bite my nails so i use brushs tweezers ect to scratch, ive had antibiotics and steroid creams but they work straight away as soon as course is over it comes bk ive been told now to avooid sugary things for some reason so ive been doing that and its fading away also ask your doc for betnovate cream its super also use emulsifying ointment theres no smell to it its just like lard lol, but wash in it and it makes the skin not so flaky kind of puts moisture bk in it
best of luck hope it clears up soon

Go to your doctor, this sounds like a form of dermatitis. They do have creams which will help. You may also need a systemic steroid.

Set up an appointment with an allergist - most forms of dermatitis (like eczema) are caused my autoimmune or allergic reactions (both of which are caused by the immune system which is why the steroids help).

May people have mild allergies to things like wheat, corn, and/or dairy, but since there is no anaphylactic reaction, they do not acknowledge it - it just keeps a constant level of histamine in your system.
