I'm unfamiliar with eczema........ can anyone help?

Eczema just popped up on my nine year olds body this past April and by July covered his entire body. It was aweful but NOT itchy. His doctor FINALLY referred him to a dermatologist who took a biopsy of his skin. The result from the pathologist was that he has eczema.

I'm not a doctor but a mother's intuitiion tells me it is something more but I don't know what??? Can a pathology report be wrong?

What do you do for your eczema? His skin HAS improved since April but it is still bad.

Eczema does not run in either family.

Thanks for your help/advise!

i have eczema on my hands. i notice that whenever i use scented creams and lotions on them, my hands start getting really bad and very itchy. same goes for when i use hair gel in my hair and do not wash immediately. my suggestion is to keep your child away from perfumed creams as they could irritate the skin. use unscented products only. hope this helps!

Eczema can just happen to people, once it starts it will continue unless you get a steroid cream (hydrocortisone10%) this will help alot

There are mainly 3 types of eczema
1) infection type
2) Anti-body type
3) Mal-nutrition type

in both cases, they have something in common. that is itchy skin and dry. After scratching, you get infected.

Sometimes, you may have 2 or 3 types combined with other auto-immune diseases such as RA, MS etc.

Your son is 9. It is very very critical now he gets proper treatment. Before you start any thing, you need to tell me the following information -
HDL/LDL level
Anti-body positive? (RA)
Both data can be done through blood test

Before any treatments, you can feed your son the following-

Flax seed Oil
Flax meal (1.5% lignan) quick meal
Mix above 1 ts each, add 1/2 cup hot water, 1/2 cup of soy milk. (to become 1 cup). Twice a day before meal.

Flax oil has 57% of ALA a type of anti-oxidant Omega-3

Lignans help to compete with crazy hormones in the body.

Eczema is not contagious, but is affect peoples confidence greatly. There is no cure in synthetic medicine. My research centre has helped hundreds of people to recover. It is not an easy disease to deal with. You need patience. Averagely, it took 3-4 months for my patiently to recover 90% or more.

Make sure yo do not give your son big presssure all the time. Stress is one of the main reason causing eczema.

With many skin diseases dont forget to look into his diet. Most of these isues start with the digestive system.

my daughter has eczema she broke out when she was about 6months old she is 13 now the best thing i have try that help is EUCERIN MOISTURIZING CREME in just in a couple of days it clears up

though heredity can play an important role in eczema, yet it can still appear even if you it does not run in your family. it might be triggered by some environmental factors. there are so many things to avoid eczema outbreak:

* avoid skin irritants and allergens like dust and pollens
* avoid scratching the affected area of the skin
* avoid too much exposure to heat and cold
* avoid drastic change of weather
* avoid rough and tight clothes
* avoid perfumed skin care products and detergents or soaps
* avoid nails to get long
* avoid processed and food with preservatives
* avoid activities that can make you sweat

be sure to drink a lot of water and have balanced diet. moisturize the skin with all natural skin care moisturizer. visit http://www.skinoriginal.com for more tips on preventing eczema flare ups.
