Eczema Questions?

Hi, can you help me with some questions I have, I was told that I had eczema from a doctor, but I have never itched, so do you think I still have it. How do you get eczema? What can I do to make it better besides the med's the doctor gives you? I just don't know how I got this, and I am really wondering if I have it since it don't itch. Thanks for all who respond.

Im 28 and as far as I know its just on my upper arms. Can it spread? could it be other place with out you seeing it.

Eczema is a really generic term that doctors use that covers a lot of stuff. I was told I have it (and I don't itch) and a different dermatologist told me I have keratosis pilaris - that's the little bumps on your upper arms. It never hurts to get a second opinion. You should at least do some research on skin conditions on a medical site (webmd, etc). Almost all of the skin conditions are genetic, so you didn't do anything to get it, you just finally started showing signs. Stress can make all of these types of skin issues worse, so try and not stress out about it. Also make sure to exfoliate well and keep it really moisturized. And be glad it doesn't itch!

keep away from h2o
use thick creams to lubricate .....
Eucerin Lotion
AVEENO
aloe soaps/lotions
hydrocodone
Elta Tar

1. Buy a humidifier for your room and keep it on all day.
2. Gently rinse the affected area twice a day with gentle and mild bar soap.
3. Apply Aquaphor (find it at any drugstore or grocery store) on the affected area often.
Doing this for a week cleared mine up. Good luck!
