Eczema problems?

i've always had small patches of eczema, but i had a full blown flare up recently (so says doc)...im 20, i just dont know how normal this is...so im wondering if it's really eczema...it's all over my chest and some on my back, it's super itchy...and my skin has been dry for the past few months (like, unnaturally dry). is there any thing else i should do, besides put on the cream, should i get a 2nd opinion?

(ive never had a flare up before)

Eczema is prone to get worse in winter because of drier air.
Moisturize your skin with Vaseline (it is the most neutral of moisturizers). For natural cure, get a jar of herbal cream from http://www.champori.com/ and put it on (thinly) for 2-3 times a day. It is the only remedy that works well for me.
Best,
Bernadette

it 's eczema. if you have been stressed out it can flare up. make sure you rinse clothes well when washing. mine gets so bad i have to use dreft detergent and unscented dryer sheets or softener. i also use dove soap for sensitive skin. the flare ups go away. just keep in mind that you have sensitive skin and have to watch the things you use on it. also make sure you get refills of your cream. it will be fine i promise.

Maybe your doctor could refer you to a dermatologist, who might be able to offer more solutions. Some people I know have had success with limiting their eczema by taking fish oil capsules daily.

Go to genniesalve.com you wont belive how good this works. And its all natural.

There isnt really anything else you can apart from apply good creams as i suffer from similar eczema and dry patches too.
Your doctor should prescribe something, i was prescribed hydrocortisone cream for the eczema i used to get at the back of my leg and it cleared it up. I now get eczema only on my face now and i sort out dry patches with Palmers Cocoa Butter cream, its a good all over moisturizer and i can use it on my face considering i have really sensitive skin.
I also used to use Oilatium (cant spell it!) for the bath. you pour a bit into a running bath and it has a gentle treatment for the eczema as its hard to apply cream to your back! I used the one for kids as i have to use gentle products.
I've tried a lot of things such as, Sudocream, Vaseline and gentle Johnson moisturizers. They werent as effective as other things but you can always try them and see how they work for you. E45 is another good cream.

there's no cure for eczema... (i've had it since birth) ... flare ups tend to happen with cold weather, or stress, or as an allergic reaction to something (often milk but not always)... the main thing for you to do is to not itch... that'll just make it red and peel... and then it'll leave a mark or a patch of discoloration on your skin... you should frequently apply lotion... i've found that cetaphil works best... it keeps your skin moisturized for a longer period of time (but keep in mind you'll have to put it on again later in the day so don't get frustrated)... at night it's best to put something thicker on like aquaphor (which is pretty much like vaseline so if you can't find aquaphor go ahead and use vaseline)... also if it's really itchy you might want to get an ice cube and rub it on the affected area... sometimes that calms down the itchiness... this should work... but if it's really bad... you could go to a dermatologist who may suggest you use a stronger cream... like something steroid or urea based... (i got umectra which is urea based and it worked miracles... but that was just me).... good luck

If you haven't had a doctor diagnosis your skin condition you should.

Winter months and drop in temperatures affect skin by robbing it of its natural moisture, making it important for you to replinsh it. Increase the amount of water you take in as it will hydrate from the inside. Limit time in shower, and avoid using hot water (very drying to skin). And as soon as you get out of shower lube on the moistuerizer (use one that is hypo allergenic ie aveeno). For extremely irritated areas try using a medicated topical cream Skin Zium is a product made for Eczema. Check out my website http://www.psoriasisreality.com for more prevent tips and product suggestions.
Remember to see your doctor for correct diagnosis.

The source below talks about eczema and eczema cures.

This isnt a cure for eczema but really as close as its possible to get- its a holistic product and actully reduced my flareups so that I have very very minor ones- and I use this instead of the hydrocortisone.
they claim upto 60% or so reduction on site itself- and go as far as to offer samples for people to check on.
Really worth a shot

heredity and genetics play a vital role in passing eczema from one generation to another. it may appear at some point in your lives especially when the immune system is low. it can also be triggered by skin irritants and allergens.
