Eczema (Exema) Help?

I have a mild case of eczema (mainly stress related), and it was going away, but now it's come back again. It's pretty much all over, and it's the "wet" eczema in some spots. I was wondering how any other people out there have dealt with this without having to go to the skin doctor. Do you know what I should do about showering? I have been using Aveeno cream, but it's taking forever for it to heal. Anyone's help with any products or how to deal with this would be very helpful - thanks!

Also, how can I prevent the "wet eczema" from getting on my clothes? I've tried band-aids, which work alright, but when I take it off it still hasn't healed anything.

When you bathe..you gentle soap like Dove I had it when I was younger and it has come back... [either I didn't have that many options then, or noone really cared]..but keep using Aveeno lotions and ointments..I think it works the best, I have relatives who use it [because they actually are cared about] anyway it works well for them...very well..You may also want to try Keri brand lotion..it makes your skin very soft...just keep your skin lubricated.

It is best if you are use something like eucerin cream, hypoallergenic & fragrance free. When you shower use a hypoallergenic fragrance free soap and blot your body when drying, do not rub. Lotion yourself 2-3 daily, if you need to do more then do so. I hope this helps a little, good luck.

My son (now 7) has had severe eczema since he was 2 weeks old. I use an intensive care lotion on him twice a day to keep it mostly under control. However, when it gets worse, I give him an oatmeal bath (you can buy the expensive over-the-counter stuff, or just put about a cup of regular oatmeal in a clean sock and tie it off). If it gets REALLY bad, I resort to a hydrocortizone 1% lotion; but be aware that prolonged use (more than 2-3 weeks) will thin the skin, and can lead to getting cut or bruised easier. On a final note: I've found that there are several lotions on the market which are formulated for eczema that work great for the first few weeks, but the patches soon return. I do not use any of these "specially formulated" products on my son for that reason.
