Why do people 'cut' ecstasy when they make it?

I understand that ecstasy needs to be cut just to be put into pill form, but what I dont understand is why do manufacturers cut ecstasy with other drugs, I have often heard of ecstasy being cut with speed or caffeine, but i cant see why it would benefit the person making the ecstasy to cut in another drug, isnt that more expensive? I really hope someone can explaine this to me.

well if its cut with caffeine it makes it cheaper to make more pills of it. caffeine is cheap and by adding extra stuff to it you're creating more of the base material than you had just with the x by itself. therefore you can sell more pills and get paid more money. i don't know about speed though. don't know the market value of that.

Actually, the reason anyone "cuts" their drugs with anything else is for one simple reason - profit! If you take an expensive drug and mix it in with a more inexpensive drug or a starch compound or what have you, VOILA! more "X" without anyone the wiser!
That being said, the problem with that is, YOU DON"TKNOW WHAT ELSE MIGHT BE IN YOUR HIGH AND THAT CAN KILL YOU!
Be safe, don't do drugs, its just not worth it! :)
