MAOI and ecstasy?

does MAOI and ecstasy (mdma) feel similar? whats the difference? my doctor wants to put me on an MAOI. i have done ecstasy before and loved it so i want to know how similar they are if at all?

For starters MDMA is illegal and technically a type of methamphetamine. So basically they're nothing alike because MAOIs are antidepressants. If your doctor is prescribing things like MAOIs you shouldn't be going anywhere near street drugs. MDMA causes depression. I'm not a fan of any antidepressants because they lead to dependency and greater depression trying to go off them but that's just my opinion.
