Lexapro and ecstasy?

I just started taking lexapro 10 mg for the last month but I really want to go see tiesto in a month and take ecstasy. Is it okay to take both? I heard that it ruins your roll, I really dont know whats more important to me. that might sound sad but i am really looking forward to this rave. Should I stop taking it and start over again? Will that ruin all that lexapro has done for me? I mean I wanst like succidal but I have some anxiety

I guess I should of started off with the whole speech of I know it isnt healthy, I dont plan on doing it very often. Its just so much fun and something I havent gotten over yet. I have only done it 4 times, at 19 I think I can have a little more fun before I need to quit. I however am not going to take it while on another drug if it can cause serious sideffects. I think I know that I need to skip the rave but I cant tell you how therauputic the last estasy trip was. I take the lexapro for social anxiety and depression as it is, and x helped me come out of my shell. I feel invincible and incredible and like a million bucks and that elimates my social fears and inner thoughts that always seem to bring me down. At 19, i have been with a few girls in my day but I have only really felt love once. Before I ever experimented with any drugs I had fallen in love and x is the only way for me to experience a lot of those emotions at this point in my life.

For many, taking ecstasy is the reason for there anxiety/depression. Ecstasy acts on the same chemical in the brain that SSRI's treat, = serotonin. Ecstasy maliciously destroys serotonin, while lexapro is trying to give your body a balanced level. The EX you do the irreversible harm you do to your serotonin receptors. STAY OFF THE EX, it will increase your anxiety ten fold.

DO NOT TAKE LEXAPRO AND ECSTASY TOGETHER!!! For that matter, don't take ecstasy at all!

i wouldn't stop taking lexapro stopping and starting isn't good for your chemical balance. No it's not good to take both be more concerned with your mental health than the ecstasy.

Hmm, I would ask your doctor first, but I wouldnt recommend taking those together. The reason being is that X causes Euphoria, and Lexapro is an antidepressant. Im not sure what would happen. Definitely ask your doctor first, could be bad could be good lol. I dont think it would ruin your effects from lexapro though.

lexapro will have an interaction with ecstasy. Lexapro is a SSRI, which prevents serotonin from going inside neurons. While Ecstasy (MDMA) will try to release so much serotonin that it will counterbalance lexapro. That means that Lexapro will not make you feel high even with Ecstasy. But I do not wish for you to even try Ecstasy. Don't ruin your life.

Read up and see what you think. Educate yourself and make your own decision. Everyone here will tell you it's a bad idea a) to stop the Lexapro b) to take E c) to do them together. I found some info on wiki,

but don't trust it entirely. Lexapro is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) which basically increases the amount of serotonin in your brain at any given moment. Ecstacy causes your brain to release a bunch of serotonin all at once. That's a lot of serotonin, and the rebound is a *****, if nothing else.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket but didn't the doctor who put you on Lexapro, ask you specifically if you take any other drugs?Mine did. In my opinion you are playing with fire.There is a lot more "FUN" as you say to be had-you want to risk it? Anytime you do something like that, you take a risk. There are a lot more "therapeutic" things in life than Ecstasy.

if i was at your position, im gonna go to tiesto and drop but i wouldn't mix it with lexapro. just don't drink your medication on the day you're gonna do ecstasy. tiesto's coming in frisco on july! cya there
