I take ecstasy (1 tab) every 6-8 months, do you think it still will impact me in a "big" way?

I have taken ecstasy so far twice, each about 6 months apart if I continue to do this possibly even just once a year will it still impact me a whole lot, I don't smoke pot (anymore) and I use to take bars (xanax) but I no longer do either and rarely even drink.

can it still permanetely mess up my brain even though i only use it as often as mentioned....and when I do I drink lots of water.

I know many of you will say just stay off it for it...its bad for you!

Someone try to give me a real answer.

This is the real answer. It is not known to cause brain damage, but it's relatively new, and not studied for long-term use. It IS know to be physically addictive and is easy to overdose on.

it's already impacting you... man.. you just said to the whole world that you go against the law :) wake up and stop taking them anyway! Try bungee-jumping instead!

I am sorry to give you the expected answer but stay the hell away from it. My husband had several friends who have used amphetimines for years and they seem okay. He used for a very short time and ended up psychotic and spent weeks in psych ward. He did get over it and is normal now but is it worth that risk? Drugs are bad mkay?

I shouldnt worry mate , its clear that you are already brain damaged

To be honest with you, I had a friend who only took a pill one time and it was accidently taken by someone like her idiot boyfriend who slipped into her drink and it killed her!!!!! So stay away from it!!!!!

No, every study on the cognitive impact as well as potential damage to serotonin axons and axon terminals has shown that any ill effects wear off quickly. The effect MDMA has on your baseline serotonin levels wears off and the levels return to normal usually within a few days to a week. The neurotoxic effects are repaired by your brain as it resprouts axons within weeks as well. Based on the research that has been done, as well as anecdotal lack of any perceived side effects from 99% of long-term MDMA users who take breaks of a month or more between each use of MDMA, your twice a year rate is going to be completely harmless.

My husband and I have been taking ecstasy once a month for about a little over a year, and hasn't effected us in a bad way. We stay hydrated with water or juice, never alchol with it. You can also drink too much water. We keep cool with fans so we dont overheat our bodies. We normally take one pill then follow up with 5-htp after we start to come down. The 5-htp keeps it going and it's not harmful, because they sell them in walmart stores over the counter. That way there is no overdosing by taking more than 1 or 2, depends on how good the ecstacy is. We did some research before we tried it. Most people don't they just take it and see what happens. Your fine with taking it twice a year.
