What is "Dobutamine, Stress Echocardiography criteria"?

What criteria can be recognized as serious coronary artery disease? Thanks.

Dobutamine is the chemical they use for non-exercise stress tests. IOW, there are some people who simply can't run on a treadmill, so they have to make their heart work and act like it's on a treadmill... without the running part. What they do is they use dobutamine intravenously to raise the heart rate and BP.

HUH??!

Coronary Artery Disease(CAD) is the narrowing of the coronary arteries, enough to prevent enough blood supply to the heart muscle.(i.e. myocardium). As the artery narrows, the cells in the heart muscle weaken and die. These are then replaced with scar tissue.
The leading cause of CAD is hardening of the arteries, a condition in which the space(lumen) within the coronary artery is narrowed by fatty, fibrous deposits(plaques).
Many factors, including old age, heredity, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, diets, high in cholesterol, smoking and stress seem to predispose this condition.

I am not familiar with the word, "Dobutamine." Could you have meant, Dopamine, instead?...dopamine is a neurotransmitter(a 'nerve-sender') chemical in the brain, necessary for brain cell functioning. [Ex: Without dopamine, Parkinson's Disease results].
Echocardiography is a noninvasive diagnostic test. It uses ultrasound to visualize the inside structures of the heart.
After a special transducer is placed on the patient's chest, it directs ultrahigh-frequency sound waves toward cardiac structures. These echoes are converted to electrical impulses, and are shown on an oscilloscope.
Electrocardiography(ECG) records the electric currents, coming from the heart muscle. Electrodes are placed on the patient, and, in some cases, the patient is instructed to walk on a treadmill; this is called a "Stress Test."

Hope this helps...

A dobutamine stress echo is a non-invasive ultrasound test which can visualize the heart in motion. To view the heart, your doctor will place a transducer on your chest which emits harmless sound waves to your heart. These sound waves generate pictures of your heart in motion and are displayed on an ultrasound machine connected to the transducer.

Your doctor will examine the muscle movement of the heart (also called wall motion) while you are at rest. Then, your doctor will inject a medication called dobutamine through an IV. This causes your heart to beat faster, simulating the effects exercise has on your heart. The doctor will then examine these pictures of your heart and compare them to the pictures taken while you were at rest.

If the results of your stress echo show decreased muscle movement (or wall motion) during stress than while resting, it is an indicator that there could be plaque buildup (atherosclerosis) in your arteries. The doctor will determine if any other testing is necessary to ensure that your heart is functioning properly.
