Would echocardiography show an old hart (or an old silent hart ) attack when it use for testing the hart?

Echocardiography is used to diagnose certain cardiovascular diseases. In fact, it is one of the most widely used diagnostic tests for heart disease. It can provide a wealth of helpful information, including the size and shape of the heart, its pumping strength, and the location and extent of any damage to its tissues. It is especially useful for assessing diseases of the heart valves. It not only allows doctors to evaluate the heart valves, but it can detect abnormalities in the pattern of blood flow, such as the backward flow of blood through partly closed heart valves, known as regurgitation. By assessing the motion of the heart wall, echocardiography can help detect the presence and assess the severity of coronary artery disease, as well as help determine whether any chest pain is related to heart disease. Echocardiography can also help detect hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, in which the walls of the heart thicken in an attempt to compensate for heart muscle weakness. The biggest advantage to echocardiography is that it is noninvasive (doesn't involve breaking the skin or entering body cavities) and has no known risks or side effects.(Wikipedia)
Why the echocardiography test is performed:-
This test is performed to evaluate the valves and chambers of the heart in a noninvasive manner. The echocardiogram allows doctors to evaluate heart murmurs, check the pumping function of the heart, and evaluate patients who have had heart attacks. It is a very good screening test for heart disease in certain groups of patients.(MedlinePlus)
Please see the web pages for more details on Echocardiography.

echocardiogram will only check on the ventricle function (EF) ejection fraction, but it can also show if there is any enlargement of the heart.. old infarct will be seen in ECG, sometimes it can also be present in an ECHO....

An echocardiogram is to see if you have abnormalities on one of your four heart valves, if one ventricle is bigger or if it's dilated , etc, it basically shows the doctor what is going on with your heart in general, usually doctors do an EKG along with this and a stress test , depending on the patients heart condition.

yes!!! ECG is used to measure the rate and regularity of heartbeats as well as the size and position of the chambers, the presence of any damage to the heart, and the effects of drugs or devices used to regulate the heart (such as a pacemaker. An ECG is very useful in determining whether a person has heart disease. If a person has chest pain or palpitations, an ECG is helpful in determining if the heart is beating normally. If a person is on medications that may affect the heart or if the patient is on a pacemaker, an ECG can readily determine the immediate effects of changes in activity or medication levels. An ECG may be included as part of a routine examination in patients over 40 years old. The whole purpose of the test is to track heart electrical functioning which is what changes with damage to the heart.

An echo test is great - painless, fast, and kind of fun to watch. It is best for looking at the valves in your heart. A better test for showing cardiac muscle damage is a Thalium Stress test. This involves getting an IV, getting an injection of the radioisotope thalium, about 20 minutes worth of pictures with a strange looking camera - in a machine that kind of looks like an open MRI machine. Then after waiting a while, getting hooked up to an EKG and walking/running on a treadmill until your heart rate reaches the desired range, getting another thalium injection and then more pictures.
This a less invasive test than an arteriogram, which is most often used for looking for coronary artery blockages.

Yes it will. It shows all heart motion. Damage from an old heart attack, no matter how small will be visible. I just had an ecg a month ago, and I have a little dead tissue at the lower tip of my heart.

no

No. Echocardiography shows a visual image of the heart in action. An echo has nothing to do with the uterus which is in the abdominal cavity. Not to worry.
