Why was Ebola virus controlled by testing, identifying carriers and isolating them and not HIV? |
Why was Ebola virus controlled by testing, identifying carriers and isolating them and not HIV? I think you underestimate the complexity of HIV. It can't at all be compared to the Ebola virus in any way. Due to the massive amounts of mutations HIV goes through, scientists at the moment, have not found a way to control it. We have not discovered how to control HIV yet. HIV takes years to develop into AIDS. Ebola's incubation time is about 7-10 days and kills in about a week of initial signs and symptoms. It kills so fast that it can't really spread like HIV. I don't think scientists even know if ebola can be sexually transmitted. |
