I want to help people with eating disorders.....? |
I am a 24 year old female in the UK. I want to help people with eating disorders. I thought I could become like an email pal where I can focus on a few new friends and help them through it by email. I have had a few issues with eating disorders in the past and know what it feels like to want someone to talk to who doesnt know you, your family, your work life, your home life etc. I also know how much you can feel guilty about your eating disorder and try to do other things to make it up. I want to help these peole help themselves. My only problem is I cant find a website that is UK based to point me in the right direction. Like I said email would be my primary source of contact, but would be happy to exchange photos etc in order to get to know them. I would like to help as many as I can, but want to make sure I give everyone of them all the time and dedication they need, this would obviously restrict how many I have contact with at any one time. Where can I go to help out? If you too are interested in helping, make me aware and when I have info I will pass it onto you. Every bit helps these people. They need us. I built mine through them and its so cheap and easy. (you can see it at www.kittykatcards.co.uk I built it from scratch) If youd like some help, give me a yell and I'll do what I can. if there were more people like you on this site itd be a much nicer place :D xx Why don't you set up your own website and then maybe advertise it on some of the better known websites. I know nothing about eating disorders to give you better advice than that but I wish you all the luck in the world. I don't mean to be rude so don't take offence, but , being someone who ana (anorexic) i wouldn't want someone to talk to me not knowing about me and thinking they do. Acting as if i'm stupid and can't decide things for themselves. I have ANA-buddys who i talk to. They're going through the same thing as i am. I'm sure most people who are ana/mia would much rather prefer to talk to someone like them. |
