Why am I getting Ear Infections One after Another?

I am 12 years old and getting Ear Infections One after Another. I first started my ear infection problem in the Left ear. As soon as that ear infection was done my right ear got one. As soon as that one was done there was maybe a week in between my next one that was in the same ear. Its still happening and its might of been at least 1 hole month that this was happening. Please help me find a way to stop this. It herts so much I fell like I want to just die.

Both of my parents smoke but none of them listen to me when I tell them that it is you that is making me get an Ear infection.

Please Help Me with this problem.

If your parents aren't listening to you that you think something is causing them, then it's more important to tell your doctor.
If you doctor won't listen either, then go to another "authority figure" that will listen to you... like a teacher at school.

It's important that children be listened to, and even moreso when there's a problem. The doctor should listen to you (if it's even a halfway decent doctor), but some doctors feel too busy to listen... that should be the only time you would NEED to go to a teacher (or other authority figure) with a problem like this. If it came to it, your teacher would know the proper path to go down to make sure your parents know it's a big enough problem that it needs to be evaluated.
And don't worry.... you shouldn't get in trouble for needing medical attention (if you do, I would tell that same authority figure about it..... but again, that shouldn't happen).

The biggest thing you want to point out when you're telling your parents, doctor, or teacher (or whoever) is exactly what you wrote in your question:

"Its still happening and its might of been at least 1 whole month that this was happening"

"It hurts so much I feel like I want to just die"

go to the doctor.

ask a professional

i used to get ear infections when i swam a lot.. have you been doing that lately?

Smoking cannot cause an ear infection. Only BACTERIA can cause an infection.
Have you been to the doctor? Have you been on antibiotics? If you have an ear infection, you have to take the antibiotics the doctor prescribed you---you HAVE to finish them ALL. Some people stop taking the medicine when they start feeling better and you can't do that. The infection is still in there---you have to finish the medicine to kill the infection. If you have taken all your medication the way you're supposed to and you are still having the same symptoms, you need to tell your doctor right away. You need a different medication. There are different antibiotics for different types of bacteria.

ear infection has absolutely nothing to do with smoking.
When a baby gets an ear infection it's usually because they drink milk and then lay down. When an person 12 gets an ear infection then there's something else going on, like see this website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear_infecti...
Figure out which it is and ask your parents to take you to the doctor to get that fixed. It could be from swimming or getting water into your ear, or it could be from wax buildup. Once you start back to school and if your parents haven't solved it for you then take the problem to the school nurse.

What is happening is that you may be getting an allergy to their smoke and develop a sinus problem which goes directly to your ears. This problem can get worse if ignored and go to your brain. Talk to your parents about quitting and offer to help them. Have your Dr. talk to them about this problem they need to know the seriousness of this problem.

When I was a kid, I got ear infections all the time too. Now that I am a grown up, my hearing is bad. You need to go to the doctor!

I don't think that your parents' smoking causes the infections. I am furious at the thought of you suffering for so long with an ear infection and they aren't even taking you to the doctor!! Make them take you. Or talk to someone at school. If you are being accurate about this situation, they need to learn how to be better parents... they should take you to the doctor when you are sick. It is one of the most important jobs of being a parent...

Have you been to the doctor for this condition and received antibiotics? Do you use Q-Tips to clean your ears?
A couple of Summers ago I had used a q-tip in my ear and think it might have pushed wax into my ear. Anyway, I swam alot and the ear became blocked. Then it quickly became very infected. I went to a specialist and he prescribed antibiotics and antibiotic ear drops. I took both for 10 days and just as it seemed to have working, the pain was back again. It was only when I went back a second time did the doc tell me that I had a severe case of Swimmers ear. If I wanted to shower, I had to wear a shower cap. Swimming, I had to wear a bathing cap. It was imperative that I did not get water in my ears.
The only way that your parent's smoking can have an affect on your ears is if you are ALLERGIC to the smoke. If you have chronic allergies, they can lead to a blockage in your Eustachian tube and eventually cause an ear infection. But, I have never met anyone allergic to smoke.

I would urge you to get your parents to go outside when they smoke.
You need to be seen by a doctor. If this is a repeated problem, you probably need to be seen by a specialist ENT.
Good Luck
