Allergies linked to ear infections? |
My 5 year old daughter has had ear infections all her life. I did get her tested for allergies for both air born and food she is allergic to mold and her food allergy test showed she is alergic to milk and eggs. How common is it that these things will cause ear infections. I hate to change her diet if there is no real reason for it. She has no other real symptoms of allergic reaction to these foods like a rash or swelling or anything both her father and I are not allergic to anything. Please help with any advice. My son was allergic to Lysol when he was a baby and i It's more likely that the ear infections are caused by her allergy symptoms. If she gets a runny nose, cough and/or congestion from the allergens, it's common for the mucuous to collect in her inner ear and cause infections that way. Children have shorter tubes and as a result they are slower to drain, so the fluid accumulates. my daughter developed constant ear infections because of dairy..of course it took years and years to figure it out but now that we know she avoids dairy and is fine...allergies can manifest themselves in many different ways..not just rashes or swelling that is visible..internally alot could be going on...try process of elimination diet..for 2 weeks remove all dairy and see how she feels..... |
