Do you think that milk causes ear infections? |
My son is 2 and has had four or five ear infections since he was born. We just switched to soy milk to see if that will make a difference. He's been drinking it for 1 1/2 weeks, and he hasn't been pulling at his ears to indicate there is any pain. Congratulations. Looks like you figured it out yourself. Different people react differently to milk. Some get allergic reactions. Some are milk intolerant. Sometimes milk doesn't directly cause ear infections, but may cause other effects such as mucus buildup, sinus congestion, or allergic reactions. But the worse effect is to affect your son's immunity response such that your son's immune system is not strong enough to fight the ear infection. But it looks like the switch to soy milk did the job. For now anyway..... small tube creates ear infections no dairy. the ears cant drain. dairy may make this worse because it causes congestion with prohibits drainage but it is not the cause Cows milk causes the mucus membranes to become inflamed in most people and mucus becomes thick and clogs the Eustachian tubes, which causes ear infections. |

I used mullen and garlic oil one time to clear up an ear ache. There is a company that mixes the two oils together for ear problems. It worked really well when warmed and them held in the ear canal... I'm not sure if you are referring to outer ear infections (i.e. in the ear canal) or middle ear infections (i.e. fluid behind the eardrum). Since you mentioned that they give you drops & m... At 16 probably nothing to get worried about, this could a number of things based on what you are saying...are you seeing a physician? ...I rather doubt you'll be hearing from any ENTs so I hope you'll accept a response from someone who worked in Head & Neck surgery. I don't know what personal experience your PCP ... I had my son get this vaccination before I educated myself on it. He still got a few ear infections! Please read this link ... We were originally told that we were not propping his head up enough during feedings but at 11 months ... if he is still on the bottle, get him bottles that he can sit up while he eats.
