Does anyone know how To get rid Of ear infections or make it so that a child doesnt get Them All the time? |
My baby has been getting Ear Infections since he Was born. He went to Many Specialists and they All said he doesnt need Tubes at This Point in his Life. But they keep Giving him Amoxocilian. Im afraid he Will become imune to it. If Anyone has any Home remedies that can be used On a two year old please Tell me :) We Moved from One City in the South (where The Doctors Were telling me amoxocilian is ok to keep giving him) to the North (Miltary Move) and These Dr's are telling me the exact Same Thing. I need to know if there is a Way I can help prevent Them or stop them when he does get them From home.. Like a old home remedy. :) if he is still on the bottle, get him bottles that he can sit up while he eats. This keeps liquid out of his ear canals. Find another pediatrician. if they are constant and or really serious, maybe tubes. talk to your doctor, preferably a ears, nose and throat doctor. i used to get ear infections as a child due to water in my ears. if i did get it in my ears my mom would use a hair dryer on low and blow it in the ear. it works. i got an ear infection a couple of years ago (i'm now 27) and the doctor gave me the same advice. if it is not water make sure that your child wears ear muffs or a hat in the winter. he will get over the ear infections eventually, usually by the time he reached puberty. in the meantime, antibiotic eardops help. ask his pediatrician to prescribe a different antibiotic--Cephzil works (dunno if that's spelled right btw). Tylenol Children's for the pain, and making sure his ears are completely free of water after a bath, cleaning his ears out with Qtips every week or so (don't stick them in the inner ear though!) and I think there is some kind of preventative ear drops or medication? do some research, u don't have to take my word for it! I am not real sure of what the right answer is for you, but I believe int he old fashion way of sweet oil and a heating pad or just warmed sweet oil and a cotton ball for the two year old. I would ask the doctor about antibiotic drops for the ears, they work well with me. And since your 2 year old is like a friends little boy I know, she always makes him wear a hat when outside unless it is hot of course. Don't let him near cigarette smoke and make anyone who does smoke, smoke outside!!! Those are biggies! My husband and I both smoke but ALWAYS outside!! We have always done that since before they were born, some of our friends hate it, but tough, those are our kids and they come first. Our kids have hardly ever been sick and have maybe only an ear ache once or twice in their life. Also has he seen a sinus specialist? The problem may not be his ears, it may be that his sinuses are draining into his ears. Hope this helps. Actually the solution is simple. First of all do NOT give him anything to eat or drink if he is not sitting or standing. NEVER give him a bottle lying down, EVER. This allows the fluid (and sugar, which the bacteria feeds on) to flow into the Eustacian Tubes in the ears. Also, don't give him/her anything to eat or drink for 1/2 hour before bedtime and before naps. Put him on 14 days of antibiotics. Insist on it from the pediatrician! That will kill the bacteria completely. Then, KEEP HIM UPRIGHT to eat and do as I said above. He will eventually become immune to it. My kids pediatrician periodically changes their antibiotics so they aren't taking the same one over and over. I don't have any remedies for u. How many infections has he had? Children, unfortunately r more prone to ear infections because the eustachian tubes don't drain well. try cleaning his ers out every day for like a week or two Hi. My son had ear infections as a baby. It is always good to see a doctor if there is fever or if the infection does not clear up in 1=2 days... From a personal experience, my husband's grandmother suggested applying peroxide on a tissue and gently cleaning the outer ear. The peroxide cleans out any bad bacteria and helps the infection clear up better. Also make sure the baby sleeps on his stomach or side at least most of the time. I work with little ones ages 0-3 yrs of age and in my area ear tubes are provided for frequent ear infections. Check with the american academy of pediatrics to see what they would recommend and perhaps a second opinion from a doctor? Maybe also a pediatric ear nose and throat doctor appointment for a second opinion. good luck Would suggest you find a doctor who can determine why the baby's resistance is so low..Something in the immune system is not functioning right. |
