Adult Ear infections? |
Ok, so my mom go into this car crash and bang her head really badly, and after this incident happened, she started to have earaches, and 4 years later, she's having them again. They're appear frequently. (Plus, the ear infection hurts so bad it affects her eyes, is this normal? She almost never had an ear infection before the car crash incident.) It's not normal for adults to have ear infections at all. If her doctor cannot provide any solutions, have her speak with an oral surgeon (not a dentist, a REAL oral surgeon) to check for jaw misalignment. Interesting idea. I'm sure she's been to the doctor about the ear infections. Chances are her ears don't depressurize or drain correctly due to the accident-if the accident caused them (I believe you that she'd never had them before the accident. Sometimes accidents can end up leaving people with damaged immune systems. Many people get Rheumatoid Arthritis after car accidents, for example.) But I'm not a doctor. With the severity of these ear infections, especially with the excessive pain, has her doctor ordered a CAT or CT scan or an MRI? It seems to me that is the route to go, since it really could be structural damage or an infection that never totally gets cured. Could even be the pressure of the infection on a nerve that normally wouldn't get bothered during an ear infection. Those tests would indicate any problems like that. |
