Why do I keep getting reoccuring ear infections?

About one month ago, I had a horrible ear infection in my left ear. The doctor gave me some meds, and I used them all up for the full duration. Then about two weeks later, the ear infection returns but it's not as bad. This time, the doctor gave some different ear drops.

Then, out of the blues, I suddenly get an ear infection in my right ear. I don't know why this is happening to me. My left ear is basically normal now, but my right ear is throbbing with pain.

YOUcould be geting water in your ears when you bathe so make sure you are not an it could be wax build up

I will bet you that you are a milk drinker arent you?

lay off the milk and see if it goes away and when you introduce dairy again see if it comes back...
milk is the culprit

you may have had a bilateral ear infection beginning, but the left one only presented with signs first, this is often common.

I had problems with my ears. So did my mom. I find it runs in the family. The infections are hard to clear up. Get a second opinion. Try to keep your head warm and clean. I know this sounds too simple, but it is hard to do. And keep calm, it will take time to work out the problem. Good luck from someone that has been there and will be again.

ear infections are the worst. some people just seem prone to them and they get them over and over and over.....some people dont get them at all. keep your ears out of water and wind and dont stick anything in them, chewing gum can help clear pressure in the tubes which eases pain.

I know a person that this was happening to. He was cleaning his ears out every night with Q tips. What he was doing was packing the wax and dirt into his ears like a old time musket, if you can picture that. After two trips to the doctor and then the doctor showed him how to clean his ears, he is now infection free.

If it is water getting in your ear, it could be getting trapped in you middle ear. Once the water is trapped, it makes it easy for infections to set up. If you use alcohol in your ear it will disperse the water and the alcohol will evaporate. Just put a few drops of alcohol in your ear and lay still with the alcohol in there for a few minutes then turn your ear downward on a towel. It won't clear an infection, but it can help prevent them. THis I know from experience. GOOD LUCK!! Ear infections and tooth aches are the worst.
