Ear aches/ ear infections?

what can i use aside from perscription medication or peroxide to get rid of a horrible earache possible ear infection?

Usually an ear infection means that water is stuck in the inner ear and is being blocked by excessive ear wax. The water stays warm with the inner ear and bacteria in the water will start to multiply due to excellent conditions for growth. (Warm, dark places) The best thing you can do is see a specialist who will use a special tool to "suck" the wax buildup and thereafter keeping your ear perfectly dry until your infection heals.

There's an over-the-counter remedy for pain that you can put in the ear....make sure you blow your nose (or whoever nose it is!!!!!! very important...but don't blow hard) tylenol or ibuprofin as directed for pain

Try putting a warm cloth on your ear.

When I was little I had bad ear aches all the time and my dad would blow cigarette smoke into it then put a piece of cotton in my ear. It always worked. So if you know someone who smokes give it a try.

Ever heard of ear candling? I saw a couple of EMS people doing it the other day and one of the guys swore by it. He said he had an earache at the time and before he was done candling his ear the pain was gone. They bought the candles at the local GNC but I'm sure any health food store would have them. You can also do some internet research on where to buy them.

I also heard about the candles. It's supposed to create some kind of vacuum to suck out wax and debris from the ear. I think some studies have suggested that it actually does not create the vacuum and has no affect on the infected ear. I'd check with a doctor or Registered nurse before trying it. But, be very very careful when trying this method as doing it wrong could probably damage your ear.

To get rid of an earache, lay down on your side and put a towel or cloth underneath your ear. Very carefully or have someone else do it, pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol down your ear. Lay there for about ten or fifteen minutes. It should get better or go away soon after.

mix 2 drops Tea Tree oil to 12 drops olive oil. A couple drops in each ear and the pain and infection will go away quickly.
