Lazy? Or maybe lack of attention disorder?? |
I'm not to bright - lol - I can't concentrate on one thing for too long.. I am like a goldfish!! I have a 3 second memory span!! I can't remember anything I learnt in school (probably because I wasn't there half the time) but even now I am TRYING to get on my feet and do it all again! But, I read my text books for 1 minute, if that then start day dreaming, or I will read a whole chapter of it and not remember any of it! Like I'm reading it but the words or none of it makes any sence... Just like - in one ear - out of the other !! I've also been out of school for 3 years and in the workforce for 3 years - what I mean by getting on my feet. I'm TRYING to complete a traineeship - but I just CAN'T stick in you may have ADD, or you may just not be disciplined in doing school work. One thing you can do is practice paying attention. It sounds silly, but it is something you need to try to do. Also, try drinking a cup of coffee. Some people with ADD swear that the caffeine in a cup of coffee helps make it easier to focus. Do some research on ADD and if you really think you have it, talk to your doctor about it. well u r lazy for not going to class. But short term memory is caused by lazziness. But as soon as you keep practicing to remember, and to understand the material that u are reading you can learn and remember it like other people. Tell your parents you want to see your doctor. If they aren't helpful, talk with your school counselor. Sounds like ADD or ADHD to me. Only a doctor can gather all the information and make an accurate diagnosis. I think you can be helped so school isn't so very difficult for you. It could be ADD but first I would ask for help from your school counselor maybe she could find someone to help you to learn study skills or maybe she could do an evaluation to see if you have ADD. It sounds like you have had ADD for a long time, When you are honestly trying but you can't focus your mind on the problem at hand. I would see some one and begin learning some copeing skills.. It's very hard to deal with , especially when you are really trying. |
