What is causing my lightheadedness and these hot flushes over my body? Virus related? Any insight?

I have been unwell for about 3 months. Doctors believe its a due to a virus that hasn't exited my system.

I have had middle ear infection which is now cleared, chronic gastritis/acid reflux which were found by endoscopy and im currently taking nexium.

I have had blood tests which show normal blood count and i have tested negative to HSV, EBV, HIV, Hep B & C.

The ongoing symptoms that i have been experiencing for 3 months are lightheadedness, unsteady feeling (not dizziness),confusion, lousiness/drowsiness & the feeling of "not being all there".

Recently i have been feeling these hot flushes over my body. I do not have a fever and my temperature is normal but i am feeling really hot on the soles of my feet, in my eyes, head, neck, hands and back which has not gone away. Feels like being down with a bad fever. No rashes.

My most recent blood test showed that my thyroid TSH level was low. Im due for a thyroid scan. Could this be the cause of the hot flushes? virus maybe?

I have done a Brain MRI, Adomen scan, seen a Neurologist and ENT. All was normal. I have also seen a balance specialist who did a caloric test and found out that my right vestibular nerve was weak. Could this whole thing be from a virus?

See an endocrinologist...sounds like your hormones are outta whack. Could be a pituitary problem that is screwing up your thyroid, repro hormones (hot flushes), cortisol (unsteadiness, fatigue, lightheadedness), growth hormone (confusion, not being all there) and so on. All these hormones need to be tested. If anything else is off other than TSH could mean pituitary involvment by tumor or cyst...next step is pituitary mri contrast and without.

Thyroid controls your hormones so that could account for most of your symptoms, it will take a couple of months for thyroid meds to take effect.

Low TSH indicates hyperthyroidism.

Common symptoms include:

* Excessive sweating
* Heat intolerance
* Increased bowel movements
* Tremor (usually fine shaking)
* Nervousness; agitation
* Rapid heart rate
* Weight loss
* Fatigue
* Decreased concentration

Hyperthyroidism has a few causes and is treatable.

I assume your doctors have cleared you for a possible cancer diagnosis? Night sweats are typical an early sign of cancer, but you don't describe that. Have you had all your hormones analyzed? You don't mention your age, or history of other medical conditions, or exposure to tropical diseases (for example from the Amazon, SE Asia, etc.) Have you seen a m.d. with a specialty in tropical medicine?
