I am a female, age 41 my reg bloodwork showed wbc and rbc ok my tsh was almost 4 Valtrex/no help. Does this sound familar?

my dear, it sounds as though you have hepatitis c.
alt and ast levels can appear within the normal ranges.
most doctors look at the liver panel and think your okay, but the truth is, you can still be infected with hcv!

i went 10 years of complaining and many prior years being misunderstood, misdiagnosed ect. ect....

your ebv titers are high probably because of the hcv-i had a lab test done in 7th grade for mono and the doctor said...well, i'm not sure what it is, mono or bronchitis.....it's rather weird!

it wasnt mono! it was hepatitis c! mono and hcv and herpes all reside in the flavivioradae family.

hcv can give you that itchy feeling, can give you what appears to be herpes as well as fatigue and lethargy, depression, brain fogginess, poor concentration, motor skills, insomnia....flu like symtpoms....achey bones and joints (fibro) thyroid disease-just to name a FEW! there are many more symptoms or bi-directional diseases in those with hcv...anotherwords, if you didnt' have hcv, you probably wouldn't be going crazy with symptoms! medications for depression, anxiety ect either work toooo good or eventually dont at all....or never did! creams for my rashes would work, only for the rash to return after i quit the cream!

all of your symptoms are more than likely "bi-directional" of having hcv (all but maybe the herpes-hcv resides in the same family but herpes and hcv are caused by two different viruses....however, your herpes could be misdiagnosed and instead be a symptom of hcv!).

i would certainly demand an antibody test for hcv!

*hcv is not spread through sexual intercourse and bodily fluids-only exept through blood, so if there were blood involved and you had an open herpes sore, it could of entered your bloodstream from there.

there are millions of ways to acquire hcv infection, but only blood to blood....hcv corpuscles found in semen, vaginal fluid, saliva, mucus and tears are not transmittable.

if you have ever had your nails done, peircings of any kind a tattoo or shared drugs, had surgery before 1995-even going to the dentist before then, you could very well be hcv positive.

only 15% of those who acquire hcv have a spontanious clearence of the virus, the remainder hcv population it is chronic and it is active.

hcv is not just a liver disease-it only needs the liver to reproduce it's virons....the symptoms gradually appear in most over decades. hcv is found in all tissues and organs and bone.

demand they test you if you havent been already!!! again, most doctors think that the alt and ast levels would be elevated in those with hcv, but thats not the case. please remember to argue that the alt and ast levels can appear normal with hepatitis c infection!

hugs-i've been there!

keep in touch!

ps. i'm a responder to antiviral chemo post 5 years. all symptoms have vanished but the brain fog-some damages are not reversable after chemotherapy. my liver disease was very mild and i had hcv for 26 years (at least) before doing antiviral chemotherapy at age 34. i used to sleep 18 hours a day and now you can't get me to take a nap for nothing! I'm awake more now than ever! (it's a good thing!)

how long since you've been tested? it might not be a bad idea to get checked again. sometimes they have to do a special test in order to receive an accurate reading...just a suggestion.
please keep in touch! Report It
