E coli in urine test?

I had a urine test for a bladder infection they said they found E coli and if i feel worse to go back . Any information on this would be great :(

You might do well to be on an antibiotics. E coli urine infections can persist if not treated, and sometimes go on to become kidney infections.

There are some (very few) circumstances where treating a urinary infection would not be the wisest course of action, but you should discuss things with your doctor.

e coli is the most common infectious agent found in UTIs, because of the anatomy...ones close to the other. Drink lots of water and try to wash it out. Watch personal hygiene technique, wipe front to back etc.

Cystitis occurs when the lower urinary tract (urethra and bladder) is infected by bacteria and becomes irritated and inflamed. More than 85% of cases of cystitis are caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), a bacteria found in the lower gastrointestinal tract.
Sexual intercourse may increase the risk of cystitis because bacteria can be introduced into the bladder through the urethra during sexual activity. Once bacteria enter the bladder, they normally are removed through urination. When bacteria multiply faster than they are removed by urination, infection results. Diagnosis is based on analysis and culture of urine. Treatment is with antibiotics.

Most answers are already given. Yes burning with urination, if that is what you have is a sign of bladder infection so called UTI. If you have burning in your vagina this can be a yeast infection. Many women have UTI"S when they have a new sex partner. Your body has to get used to the other persons germs...so to speak. In your case E coli lives in the intestines so: Whip yourself from the front to the back when going to the bathroom and drink lots of water instead of sugar holding drinks, including sodas and juices. Vitamin C 4 times a day 2000 mg can help to battle a urinary tract infection. Oil of Oregano is another good alternative. Another test to see if you have a urinary infection is; catch your urine in a clean glass and see if the urine is cloudy and or has a bad stinky smell. Your urine should be clear and not foul smelling. Good luck, do not worry and enjoy your life.
