Having been in hospital caught infection called starforus e-coli want to know more about this infection?


after 8 weeks on antibiotics still suffering effects of infection and have an open wound still

I think you mean Staph Aureas and/or E-Coli. Staph Aureus is the most common hospital acquired infection and it is likely the one that you mostly hear about on the news as MRSA. MRSA stands for Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureas.

This organism is very resistant to antiobiotics from over use and abuse and there are very few medications that can kill it. I am assuming you are possibly on Vancomycin? That is one of the few drugs that can kill it. I believe there may be a few combinations of drugs as well. Once the MRSA gets into an open wound it is very tough to heal it. Keep taking your antibiotics on time and do as the doctors say and get that open wound healed.

If there is E. Coli as well, it is another bacteria that is pretty resistant as well. E. Coli is one of the most common bacteria that causes urinary tract infections and can be picked up from the hospital as well.
