Please help - Our 8 month old has had ear infection for 2 weeks, then flu,?

We thought she was over the ear infection. She has had vomiting and diahrrea since Monday morning. We took her to the doctor today, who said she still has the ear ache. He said that the flu symptoms aren't quite related.
Last night my husband and I got diahrrea very bad. Our stomachs were cramped. My question is, did we get the diahrrea from our baby or is it more likely e.coli as my husband thinks he didn't cook chicken through well enough the past two nights.
What are your thoughts?

Two weeks ago we took her in to the hospital and they gave her ear drops otic and tylenol with codeine. We thought these would make her better but as we learned today they have not.
Today at the doctor he gave her antibiotics to clear her ear ache up.

If it continues ask your doctor to check your baby for roto virus it causes bad diarrhea and you and your husband could have caught it from changing the babys diapers.
