My 8yr. old has a bladder infection since she was 2- help!!?

my daughters had e-coli or entrooccous (sp?) every week since she was 2. she also pees blood. its only caused her pain once. the doctor puts her on sulfa or furnandadn or amocaciln for whatever infection. no-shes never been abused n no she doesnt hold it in for a long time-yes she ges a shower every other day n sometimes 1 a day. its been infected so much her bladder is shaped like a upside down j n scartissue. i had a bad 9 months carryin her n was put on zofran twice daily for 81/2 months n got down to 82pounds at 9 months preg. she was very healthy besides gettin tubes in ears. "very happy-i had cleftpalate n lip'' any answers for her bladder problems? she has dark circles around her eyes from bein sick from this- being on meds this long is bad for kids! i want a answer for her infections.

you need to go to as many doctors as it takes, until you find the answer. 6 years of infections and bloody urine is 6 years too many. don't stop asking until you find an answer. i hope she feels better soon.

Hi, My 6 year old grand-daughter had bladder infections. Also, had a kidney stone in this last July. She is going for more tests because she has accidents in the day and night. She has an extra ureter tube. So, if the extra tube goes down to a certain area and not to the bladder correctly, it causes extra urine to leak out which she has NO control of. This has also made the infections. Nanny Panny

I think the antibiotics have been overdone.
Have you tried excess ascorbic acid (vitamin c)? You have to use the cheap kind, ascorbic acid.
When you ingest too much vitamin C, it doesn't do any harm because the excess spills into the urine. This makes the urine more acidic. The acidic ph is inhospitable to the germs that cause bladder infections.
You can get some tasty chewable children's vitamin C, especially at the health food store; or use the powdered form and mix it with juice.
Your child's problem sounds serious enough to take a systematic approach. Start with 500 mg of vitamin C the first day. Then increase the dose by 500 or even 1,000 mg each day, until your daughter starts to have loose stool. Then back down and give about 1,000 mg per day less than the dose that gave her diarrhea. Keep this up. It has a lot of health benefits anyway, and it should greatly reduce if not eliminate the bladder infections. You may find that she doesn't need quite so much after a while.
Anyway, this won't do her any harm, it's not too expensive, and it may work. You can keep it up as long as you want; it won't hurt anything. Good luck.
I'm sure people have already told you to look into her hygiene habits and that she should drink plenty of liquids.

Do you have a jetted bathtub that she bathes in? Do the jets get run EVERY time the tub is filled? How often is the tub filled? The jets fill with old water, and the water grows bacteria rapidly. Be sure to cycle it through with fresh water EVERY time you use it, use it no less than once or twice a week. If I'm going on vacation, I run bleach through the tubes before I leave and when I get back, just to be sure.
