Can a 90 year old diabetic man have a colonoscopy?

He has recurrent bladder infection. They found e-coli in urine test. He's had antibiotics but they don't seam to work. His tests still show up positive. Now they want to do a colonscopy.
For the colonscopy prep, they told him that he can eat as normal and start taking meds 2 days before test. One packet Monday, one on Tuesday with combined 2 litres of water. His test is on Wednesday.

Sure, as long as an experiened DR or DO ordered it, however you may want to consider taking him to a geriatrician, doctors who specialize in geriatrics. Also, what about catheterization? I'm wondering if he's not being cleaned up throughly in that area. Many older people lose motor skills to adequately wipe and this can cause a lot of issues, esp UTIs. This is even more prevelent with people who have dementia

All they do is shove a camera up your tail. What that has to do with a bladder infection is beyond me.
