Why people get dystonia?

Why people get dystonia?

Dystonia is a neuromuscular disorder that causes a person muscles to spasm and contract. These contracted position may be held for long periods. Giving the person a twisted, uncomfotable and sometimes painful posture.
While dystonia is a disorder onits own it is also a symptom of other Neuromuscular disorders.
As to the cause generally it is Genetic. But they also think there may be links with trauma and illness. Also as in other neuro disorders there may be spontaneous occurances with no known cause. So really what it comes down to is unless you show family history they just dont know why!?
I hope this helps!
