Is dystonia curable or not?

Let me start off by saying it's treatable, not necessarily curable.

Honestly it depends on the type of dystonia were talking about. In general the offending drugs (certain anti psychotics, anti-Parkinsonian agents, and toxic levels of manganese or CO2) that are most commonly associated c causing dystonia are removed or revised. As for the type, focal dystonias, such as blepharospasm(a "tick" in the eyelid; muscle spasm) or torticollis(stiff neck), can be treated c injected botulinum toxins (Botox). This paralyzes the the hypertonic muscle groups. Other Rx's include physical therapy, deep brain stimulation, and pallidotomy(a type of brain surgery; often a last result)

But there is hope. Often times good old Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is prescribed, along c physical therapy. Consult your doctor about different treatment plan available in your area. Good luck and God's speed to making a recovery!
