What are the new treatments for parkinson and dystonia?

Movement Disorder.
a genetic disorder

probably the newest and most extreme treatment is deep brain stimulation...electrodes are placed in the brain and wired up to a battery. the electrodes intercept the messages that travel from brain to muscle causing tremors. botox can be used to relax muscles that go into spasm, particularly with dystonia. there are a wide range of drugs, the main one probably being levadopa but there have been no significant break-throughs drug wise that i have recently heard of.
