Does anyone have cervical dystonia? |
I would like to have from feedback from my twisted sisters or brothers out there. What treatments have worked best for you. I have had 17 surgeries in the last 3 years including medtronic stimulator implants. They were removed because they could not relieve the pain. What other recouse do I have other than botox injections? I spent years going to doctors and finally from a support group online learned to see a movement disorder specialist neurologist.I also have essential tremor and was so relieved when he told me I had cervical dystonia, finally a diagnosis. I started on increased medication, (mysoline) and botox shots the next day. The botox works wonders for me. The pain went away, pretty much in about a month. Have you tried it? It is very expensive if you do not have insurance, but there are other ways to get it paid for. Sorry the dbms did not work for you, I have heard that it is awesome when it does. I have cervical dystonia and I am starting botox treatments in Feb. This was brought on by an injury when I was working on the ambulance and the stretcher collapsed...herniated several discs in my cervical spine. Report It There is a member on the support board that I am for a different disease that has this. She appears to have had some success with the Botox. |
